I'm a wee bit older than you. But I remember the days when as a short busty girl I could zip my jacket and ride the T for under 12, and then unzip my jacket and get served in bars as 18. Early 1970s. And no one was watching us.
Streetwise sounds so ahead of its time I’ve already added it to my watch later for when I get home!! Love that you look at the movies that may have been overlooked and not given their due and that you have a real connection to and that shines in the writing :)
I do nostalgic movie reviews too and if you’d like to sub/follow I would do the same in return!
Surely. I'm mainly interested in finding things to watch at the end of the night when I've read enough and my guitar playing would keep people up, and movie reviews from independent sources are always better than say, rotten tomatoes.
Saw all of those in the theater & caught that Talking Heads tour when they came to Saratoga. Blood Simple might be my favorite of that batch. I've only ever seen it in the theater. Been meaning to watch again.

Night of the comet rules!
The Frankie Goes to Hollywood mutants…the evil government scientists…
Mary Waronov was one of them. She used to dance with a whip at Velvet Underground shows. Exploding plastic inevitable
The 1984 movies I still remember are:
Purple Rain
Metropolis (by Giorgio Moroder)
Paris, Texas
Blood Simple
Repo Man
Stop Making Sense
It was indeed a remarkable year for cinema.
